Buying a domain on NameGrid takes three steps: search, add to cart, and register. Here's exactly what happens at each one.
1. Search for a domain
From your dashboard, go to Buy domains. Single search checks one name across whichever extensions you pick (.com, .net, or .org); Bulk search accepts a whole list of full domains at once, separated by spaces, commas, or new lines. Results show Available or Taken instantly — pricing shown per domain is the exact registration amount you'll be charged, with no add-on fees at checkout.
2. Add to cart and set options
Click Add to cart on any available domain, then go to your Cart. For each domain you can set the registration term (1–10 years), and toggle Auto-renew and WHOIS privacy independently — these aren't all-or-nothing, so a cart with several domains can have different settings on each one. Selecting multiple domains with the checkboxes lets you apply the same term/auto-renew/privacy combination to all of them in one action.
3. Registrant contact and checkout
Every domain needs a registrant contact — the person or organization the domain is registered to. If you've saved a contact profile before, it's pre-selected for you (your default one, if you've set one); otherwise you can fill in a new one and save it for next time. When you click Register, your NameGrid credit balance is debited immediately for the full order total, and each domain's order is recorded right away — you'll land on My domains once it's done.
What "registered" means on day one
Your order shows as Active immediately so you always know exactly where you stand — funds are debited and the domain is yours from the moment you check out. The domain detail page shows your order terms (term, price, renewal cost), and Settings for auto-renew/WHOIS privacy so you can review or change them at any time.
