How to Add or Edit a DNS Record

If your domain uses NameGrid's nameservers (see the nameservers guide if you need to switch to them), you manage its DNS records right from the domain's page — no separate DNS provider needed.

Adding a record

• Open My domains and click into the domain you want to edit.
• Scroll to DNS records and use the Add a record form at the bottom.
• Choose a type (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and others are supported), set the Name (use @ for the root domain, or a subdomain like www), enter the Value, and set a TTL (3600 seconds/1 hour is a sensible default).
• Click Add record.

Editing or removing a record

Each existing record has Edit and Delete actions next to it. Edit lets you change the name, value, or TTL in place; Delete removes it immediately. Both take effect right away — there's no separate publish step.

As with nameserver changes, if your domain hasn't finished its initial registration yet, records you add are saved and queued to apply automatically once that completes.
