NameGrid doesn't use subscription tiers — there's no "Basic" or "Pro" plan to pick between. Instead, your workspace holds a credit balance (1 credit = $1 USD) that you top up whenever you like, and domain purchases simply debit from it.
Buying credits
Add credits to your workspace from the Billing area of your dashboard. Credits are purchased in USD and applied to your workspace balance right away, ready to spend on domain registrations and renewals.
What costs credits
- Registering a new domain — charged once, at checkout, for the number of years you choose.
- Renewing a domain — charged at renewal time, either automatically (if auto-renew is on) or when you renew manually.
What's free
- WHOIS privacy protection on every domain.
- DNS record management and nameserver changes.
- Adding teammates to your workspace, with owner/admin/member roles.
- API access (subject to standard rate limits) — see how to get an API token.
Per-domain pricing
Every TLD (.com, .net, .org) has its own registration price and a separate renewal/transfer rate — both disclosed up front, so there are no bait-and-switch renewal hikes. Check current rates on the Pricing page, or see the exact price for any domain right in the search results before you buy.
Who can spend credits
Only workspace owners and admins can register domains, change auto-renew/WHOIS settings, or manage billing. Members can view domains and DNS but can't spend the workspace's credit balance.
Frequently asked questions
No — credits stay in your workspace balance until you spend them.
